Your Reception, Minus the Wedding DJ Energy

Music and lighting designed as one experience.

No cringe. No corny.

Just a night that actually feels like you.

Not for every couple. Exactly right for the ones who care.

Real pricing. No pressure.

We don't think in playlists. We think in rooms.

A dance floor doesn't fill itself. It fills because the energy was designed to get there.

We approach your reception the way a nightclub resident DJ approaches a room: reading the crowd, managing momentum, and knowing exactly when to push and when to pull back. The difference is your guests came to celebrate you, not just dance. So we design for both.

What that means in practice:

  • The lighting shifts when the energy shifts. It's not decoration. It's part of the experience.

  • The music builds toward moments, not just a setlist.

  • Nothing gets played because it's "a wedding standard." Everything gets played because it's right for the room at that moment.

The result isn't a great wedding reception. It's a night people talk about for years.

Who this is for (and who it isn’t).

We filter on purpose.

This is not for every couple. If you want every request honored, a traditional announcement-heavy reception, or a DJ who stays out of the way and follows instructions, we're probably not your match. There are plenty of great DJs who do that well.

This is for the couple who cares about how the night feels. Who wants their guests on the floor, not standing around checking their phones. Who wants the music and the lighting to actually work together instead of being two separate things happening in the same room.

If that's you, we should talk.

High-End Wedding DJ in Boston

How we build your wedding music.

We start with your taste. Not wedding standards.

In discovery, we learn:

  • What shaped you musically

  • What you actually listen to now

  • What you partied to in your twenties

  • What's absolutely off the table

From that, we build a lane. Not a script. On the night, we read the room live. Requests are considered, not guaranteed. If something breaks the momentum we've built, it doesn't get played. That's not us ignoring your guests. That's us protecting the floor.

The goal isn't more songs. It's better moments.

Real Couples. Real Dance Floors. Real Energy.

Don’t just take our word for it. From Boston rooftops to Newport ballrooms, MixLux weddings always end the same way: epic dance floors, unforgettable vibes, and guests asking, “Where did you find this DJ?!”

“Every time we see a friend or family member who was at our wedding, we hear the same thing - "who was your DJ?" This is not an exaggeration! We wanted an epic dance floor and Brian delivered, and then some.”

Molly + Russ

“MixLux did a phenomenal job all around from the early innings of preparation and keeping us on track (all while leveraging some awesome technology), and executing flawlessly in a complex environment”

Sean + Bronwyn

“Brian was so collaborative during this whole wedding process. He did a great incorporating our music preferences and kept everyone on the dance floor.”

See the Vibe in Action

Packed dance floors. Elevated lighting. Festival-level energy with wedding-day polish.

Three things that actually make us different.

The music and lighting are designed together

Most DJs add lighting as an afterthought. We design them as one system. The room looks different because we planned for it to.

You work with Brian, start to finish

No hand-offs. No surprises on the day. The person you meet in your discovery call is the person behind the booth at your wedding.

We'll tell you when something won't work

If a lighting idea won't serve the room, we'll say so. If a request will kill the floor, we'll explain why. That's not us being difficult. That's us caring more about your night than about saying yes to everything.
